Oathday 4 Lamashan, 4707

The sanatorium was looted for supplies, including surgical implements and tomes about necromancy. Grayst, who is stricken with ghoul fever, was brought back to Sandpoint to be treated by Father Zantus. He is currently bedridden from the ordeal. The party asked around town as to the meaning of the “Misgivings”. They learned that it referred to a decrepit old manor to the southwest that belongs to the Foxglove family. It is said to be cursed and people tend to keep their distance from it. Rumor is that horrible tragedies befall its inhabitants.

The group headed north to the Nettlewood where Chris was left to lead the goblins. The goblins have (mostly) refrained from attacking the longshanks in their absence. With the power of suggestion Pyresmoke and Yasuhdo managed to convince the goblins that they had been blessed in such way that they would be able to read words without being harmed. They will pretend to read and understand writing until properly taught.

Fireday 5 Lamashan, 4707

After meeting with the goblins the group traveled south around the Devil’s Platter and across the farmlands. While marching they noticed that a nearby scarecrow was moving on its own. Upon closer examination they discovered that it was a man strung up who was suffering from ghoul fever. Searching for an explanation the group moved toward the nearby farmhouse. On the way more scarecrows were found, but these were fully turned ghouls. Ghouls ambushed the party from the tall fields of corn. After fighting off the ghouls they discovered another murder victim with the sihedron rune carved into their chest. Pinned to the corpse was another note addressed to Yasuhdo.

After a long day of travel the party arrived at the Foxglove Manor. The key they found at the farmhouse earlier unlocked the front door. The group began to explore the manor only to find strange and disturbing occurrences. The stuffed manticore burst into fire and attacked Pyresmoke. Gladreich was filled with strange memories and was compelled to lead Ragnar out of the manor. Ragnar was almost compelled to suicide. A revenant of a woman believed to of been murdered in the manor was found behind a locked door of the attic. She was destroyed with a burst of positive energy.

On the return journey home they past a group of gamblers and Pyresmoke ended up losing money in a questionable game of dice. Guarding the Sandpoint walls were a number of new soldiers from Magnimar. The Glassworks had been cleaned up and the wall in the smugglers tunnel was completed.

Moonday 1 Lamashan, 4707 – Toilday 2 Lamashan, 4707

A number of days passed peacefully in town. Pyresmoke went to the Turandarok Academy to learn more of the arcane arts. Headmaster Gandethus showed him the basement of the Academy which was filled with items he acquired during his travels. He agreed to helped teach Pyresmoke the basics of arcane magic. Yasuhdo rented some forge space from Red Dog Smithy and began to craft magic weapons for the group. Gladreich moved his things into the servants quarters of the Glassworks and worked on creating armor from yeth hound hide. Ragnar got into some trouble dealing with Vinder’s daughter. After the ordeal Ragnar has taken to taunting Vinder from a bench outside his shop.

Wealday 3 Lamashan, 4707

Hemlock approached Yasuhdo the next morning with a bloody note bearing his name. It was found on the corpse of a recently murdered man. He asked if Yasuhdo and the rest of the group could help in investigating these recent murders. The first bodies were found on 2nd of Lamashan at an abandoned barn outside of town. Three people were found dead and a survivor was found raving mad. Those killed were the three con men who Pyresmoke had lost money to. The mad man Grayst was taken to Habe’s Sanatorium. Two more bodies were found on the 3rd at the Sandpoint saw mill. Banny Harker, who operated the mill, and Katrine Vinder were murdered. Everyone except Katrine had a seven pointed star carved into their chest.

Oathday 4 Lamashan, 4707

Pyresmoke, Yasuhdo, and Ragnar headed to the sanatorium to question the crazed man. After some convincing they talked the doctor into letting them meet Grayst. After seeing Yasuhdo the man went into a trance and told him to seek out his master at the Misgivings before collapsing. Pyresmoke recognized the man to be suffering from the advanced stages of ghoul fever. Yasuhdo offered to return to town to get the head priest but this angered the doctor who ordered his body guards to attack. A few moments later zombies and a wizard attacked from the basement. Eventually the enemies were killed and the two tiefling body guards surrendered.

The next morning the party regrouped and returned to the lower level of the stronghold. After defeating restless spirits in the crypt Gladreich came across a hidden passage. The passage lead to a flooded treasury which was guarded by a giant hermit crab inside a large golden helmet. The crab was defeated and the ancient riches were plundered. The helmet is very valuable but it weights over 300 lbs.

Hidden behind a carving of a giant stack of coins was yet another passage. It led to a large room with many more doors. Behind the first door was a room with an animated image of a man speaking. He is the same man as depicted in the many statues throughout the stronghold. The other room was filled with surgical equipment and deformed skeletons. Inside was a key to unlock the last chamber of the stronghold.

Behind the last door was large open room with a brazier burning in the center. The party entered and began to search the room until they noticed a monster waiting on the ceiling. Malfeshnekor leaped down and began to fight the party, shifting in and out of existence while it fought. Eventual and monster was dealt a fatal blow and treasures in the room were looted. With the stronghold now safe the party rested again and began to plan their return to Sandpoint.

The adventurers continued their search through the second level of the stronghold. They found what appeared by be a goblin nursery, its walls lined with wooden cages filled with baby goblins. Despite disagreements in the party, Thaddeus took a torch to the goblin young and burnt them alive. The sound and stench of burning goblin drew the attention of a mercenary working for the aasimar. He seemed off put by the cult he worked for and agreed to leave for the payment of 20 platinum coins. The party, true to their word, allowed him safe passage away from the stronghold.

The large stone door, carved with depraved imagery of monsters clawing their way out of pregnant women, was finally opened. Within it was an obsidian alter with burnt remains upon on. Before the group could investigate it further yeth hounds descended on them from above. After a hard fought battle the beasts were finally put down but the monsters left Gladreich badly wounded. The ashes on the alter were identified as the remains of Ezakien Tobyn who’s tomb was broken into on the day of the goblin attack. A statue holding a kukri in each hand was also found in the room. The weapons were taken and found to be enchanted.

After regaining their composure the group pressed deeper into the stronghold. After narrowly avoiding a deadly trapped hallway the party came face to face with the aasimar and her mage companion. Wearing black armor, wielding a demonic arm, and bearing the mark of Lamashtu she attacked with unholy fury. After delivering near fatal blows to Thaddeus and Ragnar she was finally taken down by Shalelu’s arrow. Exhausted and injured the group retreated to safety, barricading the doors and finally getting some much earned rest.

Pyresmoke crossed the rickety bridge first with his goblin Chris. With a combination of threats, bribes, and spectacle he convinced the goblins on the other side to join him in fighting the goblin warchieft Rippnugget. The group entered the stronghold killing the goblins who refused to join their ranks. A crazed warhorse was found locked away in a courtyard. Gladreich and Yasuhdo managed to calm and heal the beast.

The party bust open the doors to the throne room. Ripnugget, oddly calm, tried to hold a discussion with the group. He beckoned to Pyresmoke to approach his throne and discuss their terms, but this was in reality an ambush. The rest of the party and their goblins rushed into the room and began to fight. Just as it appeared Ripnugget was going to regain control over the goblins Yasuhdo managed to cut his arm off. The goblins turned on Ripnugget again and Yasuhdo killed the warcheif with a well placed slice that decapitated him. The warcheif’s lizard was chopped to pieces by Ragnar.

After looting the first floor of the stronghold the party began to explorer the basement. During their exploring a mage was encountered who fled the battle after being wounded. A tentacled monster surrounded by goblin corpses was left locked in its cave. The bugbear Bruthazmus was found among the warcheif’s harem, all of whom were slain. An unopened stone door lies before the party, carved with gruesome images of monsters clawing their way out of pregnant women.

Wealday 27 Rova, 4707

After a night of rest the party descended back into the catacombs below town. An underground cathedral devoted to Lamashtu was found, guarded by more sinspawn and a quasit. The quasit shirked in anger and preformed a blood ritual that summoned more sinspawn from a glowing well. She attacked the party and nearly dealt a fatal blow to Ragnar. Before the blow was struck an arrow fired by Yasuhdo pinned her to a wall. The party drained the runewell of power by using the blood ritual to summon and kill the sinspawn that emerged until it was empty.

While the priests of the town were attempting to purify the evil grounds below the party examined the collapsed lighthouse for clues. Ameiko met with the party later that night and revealed that she had transferred the deed of the glass works to the group. Tsuto’s journal hinted that the woman of “celestial taint” was working to unseal a monster named Malfeshnekor at Thistletop. In preparation the group hired two local mercenaries; a monk and a rogue. A priest was also convinced to aid the party. Shalelu, who harbors a hatred of goblins and especially of Bruthazmus, agreed to travel to Thistletop as well.

Oathday 28 Rova, 4707

The journey the next morning along the Lost Coast Road was uneventful and after crossing the Thistle River the party found themselves at a large briar patch near the coast. Another goblin of Pyresmoke’s, given the name Chris, lead the group through the briar maze. After defeating the goblin druid Gogmurt they found the rope bridge that lead to the Thistletop stronghold upon an island.

Gladreich, Pyresmoke, and Thaddeus began making preparations to help protect the town against another goblin attack. A new archery training regiment was spearheaded by Gladreich while Thaddeus began examining the town’s defenses for weaknesses. Yasuhdo, after reading Tsuto’s letter to Ameiko, decided to investigate the glassworks with the help of Jerold and his hound.

No one answered the door to the glassworks and the windows were all shuttered. Kicking the front door down he began to explore the building and found a pack goblins among mutilated bodies. During the fight the rest of the party arrived. The goblins were exterminated but one of Pyresmoke’s goblins was killed by the crowd that had gathered outside. The body of Lonjitsu was found inside and was coated in glass.

After exploring the ground level of the glassworks the party descended into the basement to find sections of the walls broken down. Tsuto was discovered in an office in the basement. After a breif scuffle he attempted to flee down a tunnel. The party caught up to him and he fought to his death. A journal was found on his dead body. Ameiko was found soon after, locked in a store room. She told the party that Tsuto wanted her to join his insane schemes but when she refused she was beaten unconscious by the goblins. She did not take the news of her fathers death well and has retreated to the Rusty Dragon for the time being.

The tunnel that Tsuto tried to escape down was explored. It was discovered that one branch of the tunnel led to a hidden cave overlooking the gulf. The other led to an ancient dungeon filled with strange monsters below the city.

The party explored the dungeon’s depths killing the monsters that inhabited it. During a fight with a vargouille Chris was cursed and given a swift merciful death. They found a collapsed stairway and after excavating it discovered that it led to the surface of Sandpoint. The town watch has since been posted to guard the hole that leads to the dungeon while the party rests. Gladreich, unable to sleep, also guards the hole.

Starday 23 Rova, 4707

After a much deserved rest the party was approached by Sheriff Hemlock the next day. After the goblin attack it was discovered that the grave of Ezakien Tobyn, the town’s previous priest, was broken into. The party agreed to help him checkout the grave and found Ezakien’s corpse missing, along with two hostile animated skeletons. An old robe was discovered, identified as an inert Robe of Bones by Pyresmoke. Gladreich took the robe and began to search for a hound to track the scent.

The local hunter Jerold was hired to help track whoever stole Ezakien’s corpse. His hound Scruffy tracked the scent northeast along the Lost Coast Road. Just before crossing the Thistle River the group was attacked by a group of Mosswood goblins. The goblin were all killed with the exception of one, given the name Chris by Pyresmoke. After interrogating Chris it was discovered that the goblin tribes worked together to attack Sandpoint. With this knowledge the group returned to town.

Sunday 24 Rova, 4707

The following morning the party joined Aldern Foxglode, the rescued nobleman, on a hunt at dawn. Yasuhdo agreed to teach Aldern how to fight and arranged a training regiment . The boar killed during the hunt was dropped off at the Rusty Dragon to be used for dinner.

After the hunt the group arrived at the garrison and talked to Hemlock about the goblins. It is believed that they are being united by an unknown benefactor. It is unlike goblins to work together like this. Hemlock has left for Magnimar to request the aid of additional soldiers against this new threat. The elf ranger Shalelu explained the five major goblin tribes and some notable goblin individuals.

While staying at the Rusty Dragon Thaddeus overhead an argument between the owner Ameiko and her father Lonjiku. After exchanging angry words in their native tongue Lonjiku stormed out. Ameiko explained that he wanted her to leave town with him or else be cut out of the family inheritance.

Moonday 25 Rova, 4707

The next day Ameiko is no where in sight. Bethana, a halfling who works at the Rusty Dragon, approached Yashudo with a crumpled note written in minkaian. While not fluent in the language she knows enough that it troubles her. She begs Yashudo to help find Ameiko and believes her to be in danger.

Fireday 22 Rova, 4707

Four heroes have arrived in Sandpoint as the Swallowtail Festival begins. The square before the newly rebuilt cathedral becomes crowded as locals and travelers arrive. Merchants and their stalls line the roads of the city selling food, local crafts, and trinkets alike. The festival officially begins during a ceremony with speeches from Mayor Kendra Deverin, Sheriff Belor Hemlock, Theatre Owner Cyrdak Drokkus, and Priest Abstalar Zantus.

After the ceremony Pyresmoke and Yasuhdo approached Sheriff Hemlock and learned that the goblin tribes of the region have become more restless than normal. He is willing to pay gold if a group can help cull their numbers. Little does Hemlock know that the goblin menace is much closer than he could have imagined.

After the fun and games of the festival the sun began to set. At dusk the final ceremony was set to begin. Zantus began the consecrate ritual for the cathedral but was interrupted by terrified screams. Goblins began to pour out of the woodwork, burning anything nearby and attacking townsfolk. The heroes who were gathered near the cathedral helped push back the goblins, saving many townsfolk and a nobleman named Aldern Foxglove who has promised the party a proper reward at the Rusty Dragon. After the goblins were defeated crowds of townsfolk gathered around the heroes cheering for them.
